Privacy Policy
Tv Remote (“the App”)
Last updated: July 6, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the developer of Tv Remote (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Tv Remote mobile application for iOS.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Overview
Tv Remote is a universal TV remote app. It helps you discover TVs on your local Wi‑Fi network and send remote commands to supported brands (including LG webOS, Samsung, Roku, Fire TV, and Google TV / Android TV).
We do not require you to create an account. We do not operate a server that stores your personal profile.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information stored on your device
To make the App work, some data is saved locally on your iPhone or iPad:
- TV connection details — such as TV IP addresses, device identifiers, and pairing tokens needed to reconnect to TVs you have already set up (for example Fire TV client tokens, Samsung connection tokens, and similar pairing data).
- App preferences — such as whether haptic feedback is enabled.
This information stays on your device unless you delete the App or clear its data.
2.2 Local network and device discovery
The App scans your local Wi‑Fi network to find compatible TVs using industry-standard discovery methods (including SSDP, Bonjour/mDNS, and related local networking).
For this purpose, the App may access:
- Devices on your local network
- Network service information broadcast by TVs on your Wi‑Fi
We do not upload your home network details to our servers.
2.3 Microphone (optional feature)
If your connected TV supports voice search from the remote, the App may use the microphone to capture audio and send it to the TV for voice commands.
- Microphone access is used only when you use the voice/microphone control.
- We do not use the microphone for unrelated recording or storage on our servers.
2.4 Advertising data (Google AdMob)
The App displays ads through Google AdMob. Google and its partners may collect and use information to serve and measure ads, which may include:
- Device identifiers (such as advertising ID, where permitted)
- IP address
- App usage related to ad delivery
- General device and diagnostic information
Google’s use of data is governed by Google’s policies. For more information, visit: https://policies.google.com/privacy
You can limit ad tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device (where available).
2.5 Information we do not collect
We do not intentionally collect:
- Your name, email, or phone number through the App
- Your precise GPS location
- The content you watch on your TV
- A centralized list of your TVs on our servers
3. How We Use Information
We use information only to:
- Discover and connect to TVs on your network
- Send remote commands and launch apps on your TV
- Remember TVs you have paired before
- Show advertisements through AdMob
- Improve reliability of App features (through on-device operation and standard ad/analytics SDK behavior)
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information.
Information may be shared only in these cases:
- With your TV — commands, pairing data, and voice audio (when used) are sent to the TV or service on your local network.
- With Google AdMob — for ad serving and measurement, as described above.
- If required by law — to comply with legal obligations, court orders, or lawful government requests.
5. Data Retention
Data stored on your device remains until you delete the App or remove saved TV connections within the App (where available).
Ad-related data retention is handled by Google according to its policies.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age required by applicable law in their region (including, where applicable, under 13). If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
7. Security
We rely on standard iOS security features and local storage on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we design the App so that TV control and pairing data stay on your device and local network where possible.
8. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of personal information.
You can:
- Deny or revoke Local Network permission in iOS Settings (this will limit TV discovery)
- Deny Microphone permission (voice search will not work)
- Limit ad tracking in iOS Settings
- Delete the App to remove locally stored data
To exercise privacy rights or ask questions, contact us using the details below.
9. International Users
If you use the App outside your home country, your information may be processed by Google (AdMob) in accordance with Google’s global operations and policies.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where required by law. Continued use of the App after the updated policy is posted means you accept the revised policy, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
